Hydrogen Fuel Cell …
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car must be final solution for human being. Probably Hydrogen will need to be produced by conventional fuel, but such a question will also be solved soon. Ultimately Hydrogen will be produced just from water.
So, Water > Hydrogen > H2O > Water again. Perfect !!! Tell Arabs to go back to Carpet.

1) Lithium Ion batteries are bio degradable. No problems with their disposal. They can also be recycled.

3) Name some ideas for making hydrogen more efficiently. I am not aware of any.
4) ER-EVs (extended range electric vehicles) have never been available. The GM Volt will be the first. Name one EV-EV that was available pre-WW2.

1) Irrelevant? What about their disposal. That also emit some CO2, not to mention other harmful things.
2) For now. Big oil? I don’t have problem with it. I’m sorry you do.
3)In time there would be more eficient way of making hydro. e. g. using heat, with which they experimenting right now.
4) ER-EV was available until the end of WW2 when cheaper oil and better range of ICE engines had bring ER-EV to end. ER-EV are good for some aplication. Just not the cars.

1) you only have to make the battery once, so it’s CO2 from manufacture is irrelevant
2) the only way anyone is making hydrogen now it with natural gas which produces CO2. Guess who wants to sell you this? Big oil.
3) making hydrogen from water takes 5 times the energy you get back out of it.
4) ER-EVs will be available next year and they could have been available decades ago if the oil companies didnt hold them back.

When?? In 50 years??? I probably wont be alive by then or even if I am alilve I probably wont be able to drive any more. Not to mention making batteries put out lots of CO2, while making hydrogen from solar, wind, geotermal power doesn’t make any CO2. The idea is to completly stop making CO2 cars, truks etc.

traxdata11, we need to use ER-EV and continue to improve batteries. An ER-EV can get you anywhere you need to go. There are some new battery techs that could give an EV a 1000 mile range (like EEStore and Nano Wire). Combustion cars have had 100 years of development, next to that EVs have had zero. It is time we put development into EVs.

Saym battery cars has range of 100 mpg like they say it would. In europe that’s 160 km on 1 charge.
I live in capital of my country which is not on coast. There is 400 km (248 miles) to the coast. How do I get there with that range.?
If you say battery swap stations, that’s bad idea. Nothing can prevent you from geting say 8 years old batteries that near end of it’s life and only has 30% charge for your brand new batteries. And what about long range over continent tracks?

traxdata11, EV’s are cleaner even if coal is used to make the power because they are 80% efficient while internal combustion is about 30% efficient. Also, it is easier to clean up the grid then clean up a fleet of cars.

Not yet. But if are to save the world, we have to sucrifice something. If that mean building sistems to manufacuture hydrogen no matter it’s not economicall, so be it. If that is only way to save the world, why not.
Buttery cars are not either. They are only clean as sourse of electricity used to charge them. The same can be said for FCV.

traxdata11, no, hydrogen is not easier because there is no place to get the hydrogen from economically. There is already an electrical grid to connect new outlets to. There is no digging needed to put outlets in parking places. The grid is already right there ready to go.

OK. Maybe. But electrical sistem in my country is already on a verge of colapse. Every summer we have ocasional outtages because of extensive use of AC divices. What do you think would happen when everyone start to plag in their cars. Not everyone live in a country where electr. sistem is good. To put outlets on a parking lots and streets they would have to dig the whole city to put cables in.

traxdata11, when plug-ins become main-stream then there will be more places for you to plug in, obviously. Until then, a fuel cell car isn’t going to help you either because there is no place for you to get hydrogen. It is easier to put in electrical outlets then hydrogen fuel stations.

I didn’t say hybrids are not being capable to plug in. I just say that me and all other people in same situation as me, cannot plug them in.
What you expect me to do? Run extention cord from my window all around the building just to charge plug in car? And someone can take your my cord and plug into his car. That is too impractical.

I live in a south …
I live in a south of europe. Winters are not so harsh as in canada. No single parking lot has a outlet. The only way for me to have a car (after they stop using ICE engines) is to have type of a car from this video. And I’m no the only one i this situation. My brother too will need fuel cell car in 10 years. Not to mention 50% of population of my country.

Because plug in’s …
Because plug in’s are not ready yet. I live in apartment and have to park on building’s parking lot. I have no way to charge plug in car (unless, they build public charging network).
